How to Register I.Course The Asia Bridge Program: Careers in Japan Preparatory Course (ABP-JC) is tailored for international students who aspire to work in Japan post-graduation. Administered by the Shizuoka University Organization for the Promotion of International Collaboration, it has received accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as a program that fosters employment opportunities for international students. This course comprises three components: Japanese language education, career education, and an internship. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate of completion, which can be an asset during job hunting. Eligibility International students enrolled in full-time bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degree programs at Shizuoka University, aspiring to work in Japan after graduation. II. Contents 1. Japanese Language Education We aim to develop the Japanese communication skills and understanding of Japanese society, culture, and business practices necessary for international students beginning work in Japan. Japanese language courses, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, are offered year-round at both Shizuoka and Hamamatsu campuses. This allows students to start their Japanese studies immediately upon enrollment. 2.Career Education Our career education module encourages students to explore the concept of &#8216;working in Japan&#8217;. It provides insights into the Japanese employment system, unique recruitment practices, and corporate culture. Students are also encouraged to participate in employment-related events both on and off-campus. *A new course, &#8216;Thinking about Global Careers in Shizuoka&#8217;, is available to ABP-JC bachelor students. This interactive course includes extracurricular activities both inside and outside the campus. We highly recommend enrolling in this course. Internship Internships provide a valuable opportunity for international students, who may not be familiar with Japanese society and business practices, to gain simulated work experience. They learn about corporate sales and business activities through these programs. 4. Learning and Support Leading to Employment Preparation. ○Extracurricular Activities The Shizuoka University Organization for International Collaboration (SUOIC) encourages interaction between international and Japanese students through activities in the international exchange lounge. We also collaborate with local organizations and educational institutions, facilitating students&#8217; participation in homestays and exchange activities with elementary, junior high, and high school students. ○Employment Support In addition to university-wide employment support, Shizuoka University provides faculty- and department-specific employment assistance. SUOIC aids international students in accessing these services. We also offer specialized employment support and individual consultations for international students.
