In Oko and Monobe, students can stay in the housing facilities for international students, also known as ‘International House’. Accommodation for families is also available in Monobe.     International Residence Hall(Oko campus) ●210-1, Kohasu, Oko-cho, Nankoku City, Kochi ●Three-minute walk from the campus main gate. ●Persons eligible to stay: International students at Kochi University and their family members. ●Period of stay: Maximum one year（You may apply for an extension）.     Room type No. of rooms Rent per month Additional fee Single 8 5,900yen   Married couple 6 9,500yen Family 2 14,200yen ※Rent as of December 2020. Rates are subject to change. ●Facilities and Amenities 　All the rooms are equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, washing machine, TV, air-conditioner, bed, desk with drawers, chair, shoe cupboard, desk lamp and wardrobe. 　In addition, rooms for married couples have cooking utensils, crockery, cupboards and items for guests. 　Family rooms are also equipped with bunk beds, desks and chairs for children as well as all of the items above.     International House（Monobe campus） ●200 Otsu, Monobe, Nankoku City, Kochi ●One minute walk from the campus main gate ●Persons eligible to stay: International students at Kochi University and their family members. ●Period of stay: Maximum one year（You may apply for an extension）.     Room type No. of rooms Rent per month Additional fee Single 10 5,900 yen Electricity, gas, water（at a metered rate） Common service charge（500 yen per month） Married couple 5 11,900yen Family 5 14,200yen ※Rent as of September 2015. Rates are subject to change. ●Facilities and Amenities 　All the rooms are equipped with gas cooker stove, refrigerator, washing machine, TV, bed, desk, chair, rice cooker, desk lamp, TV board, and fire extinguisher. 　Additionally, rooms for married couples have cooking utensils, crockery, cupboard and items for guests, and wardrobe. 　Family rooms are also equipped with bunk bed, desks and chairs for children as well as all of the items above.     International Student Dormitory ●200 Otsu, Monobe, Nankoku City, Kochi ●One minute walk from the campus main gate ●Persons eligible to stay: International students at Kochi University. ●Period of stay: As long as you are a student at Kochi University.   Room type No. of rooms Rent per month Additional fee Family 3 9,500 yen Electricity, gas, water（at a metered rate） ※Rent as of September 2015. Rates are subject to change. ●Facilities and Amenities 　Refrigerator, bed, air-conditioner, cupboard.   Apartments 　There is no dormitory for international students around Asakura campus, so many international students live in apartments, most ranging in cost from 20,000 yen to 45,000 yen per month. Initial costs such as refundable deposit*, key money** and agency commission may apply (equivalent to three or four months rent).  　In order to rent an apartment, you need a guarantor. Kochi University does not provide an institutional guarantee service. Students who cannot find a guarantor are advised to use a guarantee company appointed by their real estate agency. We recommend a guarantee company called GTN, but ultimately your landlord/agency is responsible for choosing the company.   *Conditional on the accommodation being properly maintained by the occupant for the duration of their occupancy  **Key money in Japan is a mandatory payment by a new tenant to the landlord of a property.
