Suita) May 2nd(Thu.), 2024, with the support of international students at Osaka University, an "English Cafe・Japanese Cafe" event was held at Icho Festival by B.S.P. Suita. 24 international students and 43 local students participated. The total number of attendees was 71. The event was a delightful time where participants, including the assisting international students from Osaka University, engaged in conversations on various topics and enjoyed playing games together.   2024.05.08Event Osaka Dialect Cafe (B.S.P. Toyonaka) May 7th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15- “Osaka Dialect Café” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch.  The number of participants was 7 international students and 8 local students. B.S.P. member explained them some famous Osaka dialect with example sentences so that they use Osaka dialect practically. One of participants left the room, saying “Hona (See you)!” in the Osaka dialect she just learned. The event was lively and successful. 2024.05.01Event Calligraphy event (B.S.P. Toyonaka) April 30th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15- “Calligraphy event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 5 international students and 6 local students. Some participants joined the event because they are interested in Calligraphy as one of quiz topics in Welcome Party.They enjoyed writing favorite words, while interacting with each other. One of participants said, “I completed my second calligraphy very well because B.S.P. member told me some tips such as “tome (stop)” and “harai (sweeping)”. The event was a great opportunity for them. 2024.05.01Event Welcome Party (B.S.P.Toyonaka) April. 26th (Fri.), 2024, 17:30- “Welcome Party” was held at Assembly Hall by Toyonaka B.S.P. The number of participants was 53 international students and 27 local students. They enjoyed “Bingo game” as an ice break, and then played “ITO” and “Quiz session” with the topics such as Osaka University cafeteria, a famous spot in Osaka and so on, by changing members each time so that they got to interact with students from various countries/regions, faculties, and years. The event was lively and successful for all students including newly arrived students. 2024.04.25Event City Walk ~Cup Noodle Museum~(OUISA) On Sunday, April 21st, 2024, from 10:20 a.m., 16 international students and 1 local student participated in the "City Walk ~Cup Noodle Museum~" organized by OUISA. Participants enjoyed making their own original cup noodles. It was a very enjoyable exchange.     2024.04.22Event Welcome Event (B.S.P. Suita &#038; OUISA) On April 19th (Fri.), 2024 from 17:00- “Welcome Event” was held by B.S.P. Suita and OUISA on Suita Campus. The number of participants was 40 international students and 14 local students in total. They enjoyed a scavenger hunt outside in groups. 2024.04.19Event Welcome Party ( B.S.P. Minoh) On April. 18st (Thu.), 18:30-, on the 5th floor of Research and Education Hub,” WelcomeParty” was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was. 57 international students and 29 local students. A warm and fun welcome party was held where students enjoyed interacting with each other through games played by international and local students. 2024.04.18Event B.S.P. START UP WEEK (B.S.P.Toyonaka) April 10th (Wed.), 2024, - April 16th (Tue.) 12:00- “B.S.P. START UP WEEK” was held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 6 international students and 6 local students in total. They asked B.S.P. members about circles, B.S.P. activities and so on, then B.S.P. members answered in detail. Also, they enjoyed talking to each other after the event. 2024.04.18Event English Café (B.S.P. Suita) April 18th (Thu.), 2024, 12:15- “English Cafe” was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS. The number of participants was 6 international students and 3 local students. Frist, they introduced themselves to each other, and then they enjoyed talking about various topics. The English Cafe Suita will be held every Thursday from 12:15 PM at IRIS.   2024.04.17Event Japanese Café (B.S.P. Suita) On April 16th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15-, 'Japanese Cafe' event was held at IRIS by B.S.P. Suita, with 5 international students and 3 local students participating. Although many students met for the first time, they quickly bonded and engaged in lively conversations. The Japanese Cafe will be held at IRIS every Tuesday at 12:15.   2024.04.16Event Campus Tour &#038; Chatting (B.S.P. Minoh)   On April 12th (Fri.), 18:30-, Campus Tour was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 4international students and 7 local students. B.S.P. members and new international students walked together inside the building of Minoh Campus. After the tour, they enjoyed chatting. 2024.04.12Event OUISA LUNCH HOUR LUNCH HOUR hosted by OUISA was held at IRIS on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 12:10 pm. Nine international students and one local student participated. Participants enjoyed chatting and having a good time while eating lunch together. It was a friendly exchange. We plan to hold this event once a month in the future, so please feel free to join us!   2024.04.05Event Campus Tour@ Suita Campus April 5, 2024 (Fri.), 12:00- “Campus Tour” was held by OUISA, B.S.P. Suita, and volunteers.. The number of participants was 36 international students and 6 local students. Senior students guided new international students to useful places on Suita Campus that they should know. It was a great opportunity for students to interact with each other through conversation as they toured the campus.     2024.04.05Event Campus Tour@ Suita Campus April 4th (Thu.), 2024, 12:00-, Campus Tour was held by OUISA, B.S.P.Suita, and volunteers. The number of participants was 39 international students and 3 local students. The coordinator students provided detailed explanations about Suita Campus, allowing new international students and local students to explore the campus together and interact with each other.   2024.04.04Event Campus Tour &#038; Chatting (B.S.P. Toyonaka) April 3rd (Wed.), 2024, 13:00- “Campus Tour” and 14:00- “Chatting Gathering” were held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 19 international students and 3 local students. B.S.P. members guided them to useful places on Toyonaka campus. After the evet, they enjoyed talking to each other in the Toyonaka branch. The event was a great opportunity for them. 2024.02.14Event Debate Event (B.S.P. Toyonaka) February 8th (Thu.), 2024, 12:30- “Debate Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 3 international students and 4 local students.They enjoyed debating the topic "Do we need KEIGO?" in Japanese.The event was a great opportunity to discuss the topic from various perspective, while interacting with each other. 2024.02.06Event OUISA Hour~Mexico~(OUISA) “OUISA HOUR ~ Mexico~” was held in a hybrid format at IRIS on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 12:10 pm. Nine international students and one local student participated in person, in addition to 1 international student online. Karla, an international student from Mexico, gave an introduction on Mexican geography, food culture, festivals, and Mexican inventions. This was followed by a question-and-answer session from the participants, which led to a peaceful exchange. 2024.01.30Event Let’s make MOCHI (OUISA) On Friday, January 26, 2024, a "Let's make MOCHI" event organized by OUISA was held at IRIS from 16:30. Sixteen international students and three local students participated in the event. Participants made Fruits Daifuku by wrapping various fruits and Anko (sweet bean paste) with freshly pounded Mochi (rice cake). It was a very tasty and enjoyable exchange. 2024.01.30Event Mochi Making Class (B.S.P. Toyonaka) January 26th (Fri.), 2024, 12:15- “Mochi Making Class” was held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch.  The number of participants was 5 international students and 6 local students.  First, they watched how steam glutinous rice softened in the Mochi making machine, and then enjoyed rolling Mochi into a ball and eating with red bean paste, soybean flour, sweet soy sauce glaze, and so on.  It was a great time of exchange together and such a nice experience especially for students who had never made Mochi before. 2024.01.25Event Language Café (B.S.P. Minoh) In January 233h (Tue.), 12:30-, on the 5th floor of “Research and Education Hub”, the last Language Café for this semester was held by B.S.P. Minoh. From October to January, 56 cafés in 19 languages were held.  The total number of participants was 385 international students and 283 local students. It was a great opportunity to make friends for participants. Language Café will be held also in the next semester of 2024.  2024.01.23Event City Walk ~Osaka Castle Illumination~(OUISA) On Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 15:50 p.m., 13 international students and 1 local student participated in the "City Walk ~Osaka Castle Illumination~" organized by OUISA. Participants enjoyed various illuminations including Osaka Castle. It was a very enjoyable exchange. 2024.01.23Event Let’s make Baby Castella (B.S.P. Toyonaka) January 19th (Fri.), 2024, 12:15- “Let’s make Baby Castella” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 12 international students and 4 local students. First, B.S.P. members explained how to make Baby Castella, and then they enjoyed making Baby Castella by using 2 Takoyaki plates while talking to each other. They had a great time together. 2024.01.22Event OUISA HOUR ~France~ (OUISA) “OUISA HOUR ~France~”was held in a hybrid format at IRIS on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 12:10 pm. Nine international students and one local student participated in person, and one international student and one local student participated online. Harrison, an international student from France, gave a detailed introduction about the history and culture of his native country, France. A question-and-answer session followed, providing a good opportunity for exchange with the participants. 2024.01.22Event Japanese Café (B.S.P. Toyonaka) January 18th (Thu.), 2023, 12:15- “Japanese Cafe”, the last one of this semester, was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants of the semester was 258 international students and 90 local students in total. They got to interact with students from various countries/regions, faculties, and grade levels in Japanese Café. The cafes were always lively and enjoyable weekly events. One of the participants said, “Thanks to Japanese cafes, I had a great time in Japan.”   2024.01.22Event OUISA LUNCH HOUR (OUISA) OUISA LUNCH HOUR hosted by OUISA was held at IRIS on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 12:10 pm. Six international students and one local student participated. This event is held once a month and this was the third time. Participants enjoyed chatting and having a good time while eating lunch together. It was a friendly exchange. 2024.01.18Event English Cafe(B.S.P. Suita) Jan. 18th (Thu), 2024, 12:15-, the last "English Cafe" of this semester was held at IRIS by B.S.P. Suita. The number of participants was 7 international students and 2 local students. It was held from October to January once a week. It was a fruitful time between international students and local students who learn English.   2024.01.18Event Caramelized Fruits Making (B.S.P. Toyonaka) January 17th (Wed.), 2024, 12:15- “Caramelized fruits making” event was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 9 international students and 6 local students.  They enjoyed making caramelized fruits made from melted sugar and skewered fresh fruits such as oranges, grapes, and cherry tomatoes while interacting with each other.      2024.01.18Event Game Event (B.S.P. Toyonaka) January 16th (Tue), 12:15-, “Game Event” was held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 5 international students and 5 local students. They were divided into some groups and, and they played a variety of very exciting games such as Japanese Karuta, Othello, and world’s popular games including Uno and Jenga. The event was good opportunity of cultural exchange between international students and local ones.     2024.01.16Event Japanese Calligraphy Event (B.S.P. Minoh) January 11th (Thu.), 12:30-, on the 5th floor of “Research and Education Hub”,“Kakizome (Calligraphy) ” was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 18 international students and 8 local students. The international students experienced the traditional event ofJapanese New Year, and they had a good time. 2024.01.16Event Japanese Traditional Play Day (B.S.P. Suita) January 16th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15- “Japanese Traditional Play Day” was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS. The number of participants was 13 international students and 1 local students. We organized an event to enjoy traditional Japanese games such as Kendama and stacked Daruma game. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the activities, experiencing and sharing enjoyable moments immersed in Japanese culture and tradition. 2024.01.15Event Debate Event (B.S.P. They enjoyed debating some topics, such as “should one use social media or not?” “Is ChatGPT beneficial for humanity?” “Which city is better to live in Tokyo or Osaka?” They had a great time while sharing their opinions.   2024.01.15Event Calligraphy Event(B.S.P. Suita ) January 9th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15- “Calligraphy event” was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS. The number of participants was 11 international students and 4 local students. Under the careful guidance of B.S.P. members, participants learned the proper use of brushes and fundamental techniques in calligraphy. The number of participants was 6 international students and 5 local students. They were divided into groups and enjoyed making scones. The baking time was also a good time for some first participants and other students to talk to each other. 2023.12.22Event Secret Gift Swap (OUISA) A Secret Gift Swap organized by OUISA was held on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at 17:00 in IC Hall.15 international students and 5 local students participated. Participants enjoyed playing games and exchanged gifts they brought to each other. It was a lively exchange. 2023.12.18Event English Cafe (B.S.P. Toyonaka) December 15th (Fri.), 2023, 12:15- “English Café” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch.  The number of participants was 11 international students and 5 local students.  They divided into 2 groups and enjoyed lively conversation about a wide variety of topics such as learning, study abroad, their home countries or regions’ cultures and rare foods, and so on. They had a great time together. 2023.12.18Event Let’s make Dalgona (B.S.P. Toyonaka) December 14th (Thu.), 2023, 15:10- “Let’s make Dalgona” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 16 international students and 7 local students. First, B.S.P. members explained how to make Dalgona, and then participants were divided into 3 groups. They had a great time while making Dalgona with a wide variety of shapes, such as star, tree and heart. 2023.12.13Event Night Walk-Midosuji (B.S.P. Suita) December.12th(Tue.),2023,18:00-,“Night Walk-Midosuji” was held by B.S.P. Suita. The number of participants was 13 international students and 5 local students. Participants enjoyed viewing the Midosuji Illumination and strolling through the ginkgo tree-lined streets illuminated with various colors. 2023.12.07Event OUISA HOUR~Serbia~(OUISA) OUISA HOUR~Serbia~" was held at IRIS on Wed, Dec. 6th, 2023, from 12:10 pm. The event was attended by 7 international students in person. Tamara, an international student, gave a detailed presentation on the history and society of her native Serbia. After the presentation, a lively Q&A session was held with the participants. The exchange was very friendly. 2023.12.07Event Origami Workshop (B.S.P. Toyonaka) December 6th (Thu), 12:15-, “Origami Workshop” was held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 13 international students and 8 local students. They were divided into 3 groups, and then, they enjoyed folding origami papers such as crane, panda, Ninja star, snow man, ribbon, rose and so on. Everyone had a great time making each origami works. 2023.12.04Event "TAKOYAKI" Cooking Party (B.S.P. Minoh) On December 1st(Fri.), 18:30 -, on the 5th floor of Research and Education Hub, Cooking Party “Making TAKOYAKI ” was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 13 international students and 5 local students. Participants of international students, who had never made TAKOYAKI before, were also able to have a good time of exchange through detailed explanations by B.S.P. members, who are used to making TAKOYAKI.   2023.12.01Event Language Cafe in December(B.S.P. Minoh) On November, the various Language Cafe was held by B.S.P. Minoh. It was Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Swedish, Indonesia, Turkey, Thai, German! The number of participants was 192 Students (111 international students and 81 local students). Participants talked about various topics.  It was a useful time between native Language speaking students and local students who are learning Language. 2023.11.29Event Korean Chit-Chat (B.S.P. Toyonaka) November 28th (Tue.), 2023, 12:15- “Korean Chit-Chat” was held by B.S.P. Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 9 international students and 3 local students. They were divided into 2 groups, and then, they enjoyed talking about a lot of topics, such as a personality test (current trend in Korea), travel, why became interested in Korean culture, and the like in Korean. They had a really great time together. 2023.11.29Event Nov.26th (Sun.) Nature Walk to Uji (B.S.P. Suita) November. 26th (Sun.), 2023, 13:00-, “Nature Walk to Uji” was held by B.S.P. Suita. The number of participants was 8 international students and 3 local students. They visited the Byodoin temple, a world heritage, and Uji-gawa River, etc. They enjoyed the vibrant autumn foliage in Kyoto. 2023.11.21Event Nov.19th (Sun.) Nature Walk -A Hike to Kurama-(OUISA) On Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 1:05 p.m., 24 international students and 2 local students participated in the "Nature Walk ~A Hike to Kurama~" organized by OUISA. Participants enjoyed hiking in Kyoto. It was a very enjoyable exchange. 2023.11.21Event Rice ball Making Class (B.S.P. Suita) November 20th (Mon.), 2023, 12:15- “Rice ball Making Class” was held by B.S.P.Suita at IRIS. The number of participants was 10 international students and 6 local students. First, B.S.P. members explained how to make Rice ball, and then they enjoyed creating original rice balls of various sizes and shapes. Minoh) This term started with Turkish café on October 17th, and we had 9 cafes in total this month, with 5 different languages. 126 international students and 68 local students participated in these events. They all had a warm and enjoyable time together. In November, we are planning to host over 10 language cafes.
