I was particularly interested in the subjects and topics covered by the Global Cooperation Program, as well as my chosen academic supervisor’s research topics. How did you feel about studying at the GSIR? I believe it was a very positive experience; it allowed me to broaden my horizons and get in contact with new and exciting viewpoints, and ways of understanding International Relations. What are the benefits and strengths of being a part of the GSIR? I think the main benefit is being able to interact with students and professors from all over the world on a daily basis. How did you feel about the study/ research environment, such as the diverse campus environment and also your teachers etc.? I felt extremely at ease with the use of the research/study facilities, especially the library’s extensive archive. The professors were always available to consult, and my classmates always willing to engage in thoughtful debates. As you consider your career path, what elements from your research and study at the GSIR were helpful? I think that the main lesson I took from this experience, has to do with the first-hand experience of diversity and engagement in an international environment. What was the hardest thing you did at the GSIR and how did you overcome the challenge? Certainly, the most difficult thing was having to come up with an innovative and meaningful research proposal, as well as carrying out the extensive research and reading necessary to accomplish the goals of said proposal. I believe the key to success lies in diligence: if you regularly work on your research, even if just for a short time every day, at the end of the road, you will realize you have done a tremendous amount of work.
